Elements of the Crest and Their Interpretation

The St. Hubert Seminary SHS Crest is composed of several key symbols: a shield, a cross, a book, and a flame— each representing unique values of the school such as academic excellence, spiritual growth, and moral discipline.

The Shield

The shield signifies protection, strength, and defense—symbolizing the Catholic Church’s mission to safeguard moral and spiritual values among the youth.

The Cross

The cross at the center represents faith and the Catholic heritage of the Seminary. It reflects the school's grounding in Christian values and its commitment to raising spiritually conscious students.

Deer or Stag

Often associated with St. Hubert of Liège, the patron saint of hunters and the school’s namesake. The stag symbolizes conversion (St. Hubert had a vision of a crucifix between a deer’s antlers), spiritual pursuit, and transformation.

The Book

The book signifies knowledge and education. It underscores the school's role in intellectual development and excellence in academic pursuits.

The Flame

The flame represents enlightenment, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit. It emphasizes the school's goal of nurturing morally upright and spiritually guided students.
